Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Plan and prepare work
   • Safety issues relating to operating and monitoring water system plant are identified, in accordance with workplace procedures and Work, Health and Safety (WHS)/Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations and legislative requirements
   • Work requirements are identified from appropriate personnel and documentation, in accordance with workplace procedures
   • Documentation to determine water system plant status is assessed and evaluated, in accordance with workplace procedures
   • Inspection and field preparations of water system plant service is carried out, in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturers' recommendations
   • Water system plant operational prerequisites are established, in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturers' recommendations
   • Sequence for recommissioning of water system plant is determined, in accordance with workplace procedures and site requirements
2. Work requirements are identified from appropriate personnel and documentation, in accordance with workplace procedures
3. Documentation to determine water system plant status is assessed and evaluated, in accordance with workplace procedures
4. Inspection and field preparations of water system plant service is carried out, in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturers' recommendations
5. Water system plant operational prerequisites are established, in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturers' recommendations
6. Sequence for recommissioning of water system plant is determined, in accordance with workplace procedures and site requirements
7. Operate water systemplant
   • Water system plant is operated, in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturers' operating recommendations
8. Water system plant is monitored and observed, in accordance with workplace procedures, to detect deviations from normal operating conditions
9. Corrective actions are taken to rectify abnormalities, in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturers' recommendations
10. Test water systemplant operation
    • Operational tests are performed, in accordance with workplace procedures
11. Water system plant is observed for correct operational response, in accordance with workplace procedures
12. Corrective action is taken, in accordance with workplace procedures, when water system response does not meet documentation, plant integrity or personnel safety requirements
13. Water system plant is returned to operational status upon completion of testing, in accordance with workplace procedures
14. Analyse water systemplant faults
    • Causes of abnormal water system plant operating conditions are identified, in accordance workplace procedures, and by analysing technical and operational information
15. Corrective action is taken, in accordance with workplace procedures
16. Water system plant integrity and personnel safety are maintained, in accordance with workplace procedures, and in consultation with appropriate personnel and technical and operational documentation
17. Monitor and inspect water systemplant
    • Water system plant to be monitored and/or inspected is physically identified, in accordance with workplace procedures
18. Water system plant is monitored and/or inspected for normal operation or to detect deviations, in accordance with workplace procedures
19. Appropriate personnel are notified when defects are detected, in accordance with workplace procedures
20. Complete documentation
    • Water system plant problems, movements and status are reported, in accordance with workplace procedures
21. Documentation is updated, in accordance with workplace procedures
